Hello everyone! Today we’re unboxing and building the LEGO Mini Orchid, a set that packs surprising creativity into a small package. Let’s start by taking a closer look at the box and contents.
THE BOX
The box design is beautiful. I really like the gold glow behind the orchid—it actually reminds me of the old Rose Gold MacBook Air. On the front you’ll find the orchid proudly displayed, while the back gives a few more details and angles of the set.

Contents
Inside the box, you’ll find:
- 2 numbered paper bags (finally, LEGO is going back to paper bags!)
- Instruction booklet with 40 pages and 33 steps
- Part list at the back
The paper bags feel much more premium compared to plastic, though the flap opening isn’t the best. The instructions are short but very clear, even with the clever building techniques this set uses.

Building Process
The build itself starts out pretty straightforward. But then things get interesting:
- At one step, you connect an upside-down assembly with studs facing downward.
- Later, an inverted brick sits on two axles and modified bricks, flipping the build direction in a really smart way.
Honestly, these techniques are some of the best I’ve seen in the Botanical Collection so far. Definitely a “mind-blown” moment!

Spare Parts
The set comes with a good selection of spare parts—nothing too crazy, but always useful for MOC building or replacements.
Final Model – Orchid on Display
The final orchid is instantly recognizable and the colors are beautiful. The mix of nougat and pearl gold adds a classy, elegant touch.
- ✅ The stand is a nice addition and gives the build stability.
- ✅ The petals look very good.
- ❌ The flowers themselves look a little messy in my opinion, though still charming overall.
